Otoplasty

Breast Implant removal:
With or without replacement

For a variety of reasons, trauma, age, sickness, or other medical complications, breast implants occasionally require removal or replacement. Also called “explantation,” this procedure involves the surgeon making a simple incision to remove the previously inserted implant. If the breast implant removal procedure is desired because the patient is dissatisfied with the size or appearance of her original implants, new implants are placed at the same time (breast implant revision). Patient recovery after a breast implant removal is fairly rapid, with most returning to full activity within three weeks.

It is the process of recreating a breast using the patient’s own tissue and/or prosthesis (breast implant). Often the first step of this procedure can be performed immediate subsequent to a mastectomy operation. Reconstruction can also be performed after lumpectomy if necessary.

Gynecomastia

Male breast reduction surgery is generally performed to address the condition call gynecomastia, which means “womanly breasts.” This condition occurs in a significant number of adult males, and the cause is most cases is unknown.
